Check out these verses
Acts 19:22, Romans 16:23, 2 Timothy 4:20. There's a guy named Erastus in there. He was the treasurer for Corinth. Pretty big deal. Yesterday we walked down an old beaten path in ancient Corinth and saw an inscription with his name on it. The inscription says (basically), "Erastus, the dude in charge of money around here" OR "Erastus, the dude who gaveea lot or money" or both. Anyway, probably the same dude in the Bible.
Afterwards we hiked up a nearby mountain that was the site of one of the old temples. Then back to Athens and back to Center 68 for some more work
Today, 4-5 of us helped cook some meals for some homeless folks in the area. They were very appreciative, and about 10 picked up trash in the neighborhood, both ministries of Second Greek Evangelical. The 4 left finished some work at Center 68. Then after lunch all of us were at the center and we opened at 5 pm. Thanks to several administratively gifted people on our team, we ran a program with the kids for about two hours that involved games and crafts. Half did that while the other half of us handed out Christian calendars to area businesses. Then back to First Church for another wonderful dinner
Well it's nearly 1am and we're headed to the airport soon. Fantastic trip. Thankful for the worship, history, and work. Thanks for praying and please continue to pray for God's work over here. I'm very thankful for the people laboring. Pray for them.
