Greece TripGreece Day 1First Day in Athens...We arrived safely in Athens today! Praise the Lord. The flights weren't bad at all. We're at Scripture Union, the name of the place we're staying. Tomorrow, we head downtown to a refugee camp to hand out food for several hours. For many of you who don't know, Athens is the gateway to Western Europe, simply because of it's geography. This means there are literally hundreds of thousands of refugees from many countries in Athens. Tonight, I found out that I (Ben) will be preaching to a group of about 120 of them Sunday Night. Please pray now that I will be able to clearly present the Gospel (which will be translated into 3 different languages). Thank you for all your prayers, I'm going to sleep. We've been up for around 30 hours straight, save a 1-2 hour nap on the plane. We will try and upload some video tomorrow night. Good night! Or as I'm writing this, good afternoon- we're 8 hours ahead of CST.Greece Day 2On Friday, after loading onto the Metro for the first time, we headed for helping hands ministry, with a friend of ours. He took us to helping hands ministry. It is located in a disreputable part of town, and they have a wonderful ministry to refugees from all over the eastern world. Greece Days 3-5On Saturday, several students went and played with kids. That night, we attended "youth" group and the Church hosted dinner. One the ministries is to recovering drug addicts, and they were with us as well. Sunday, we attended worship at the Church. Wearing our headsets, we listened to a wonderful sermon from Pastor Giotis on 1 Peter. Monday, we went to one of the University locations and had some conversations with students.
