Fall Festival and Tailgate!

RUF students put on a Fall Festival for the kids at Westminster Presbyterian to come, fully decorated, and enjoy activities such as Fishing, Bean-Bag Toss, Cake Walk, Musical Chairs, Face-Painting, and a Moonwalk! We had a great time playing with the kids and getting to know the families better. Thanks to everyone for their help!

The next morning we had a tailgate before the Colorado State game and had an awesome turnout. Ben and freshman David Joffrion successfully grilled all the hamburgers and hot dogs for us to eat. Thanks so much to Darrell and Carol Stanley, Katharine Long, and Lesley McKee for all of their help!

Fall Missions Weekend. Houston. October 3-5.

RUFs from A&M, SMU, Rice, Trinity, and UT met together to aid in the disaster-relief work as a result of Hurricane Ike as well as volunteer with GeneratiONE (Generation One). The groups from SMU and UT traveled south towards Galveston and helped gut a home damaged by Ike--the owners worked alongside the students and were grateful for the help they were receiving. A&M and Trinity drove a few miles north into the Third Ward of Houston to work with GeneratiONE, an organization whose purpose is for spiritual growth and to physically rebuild the impoverished areas of the Third Ward. We joined with them in clearing out several abandoned lots which were overgrown with shrubbery and trash.

Wednesday Nights @ 8 p.m. in Burkhart Auditorium (map).

Directions:  Burkhart Auditorium is on the ground level at the northwest corner of Kyle Field (behind the wall with the 1939 National Champions sign).  From the northwest corner of Kyle Field, go inside the gates, turn right and walk toward the walkway under the pressbox side of the field; turn left just after you get into the walkway and you should see the double doors for the entry to Burkhart Auditorium.  We'll see you there!
